CEM Further Enhances Nectar’s Network Monitoring Services
Farmingdale, NY – Oct 10, 2013 – Nectar Services Corp, a leader in the development of network monitoring and management software for the Unified Communications (UC) industry, today announced that it has acquired assets of Netsocket Inc.’s Cloud Experience Manager (CEM) UC service assurance solution software and IP Correlation Engine™ (ICE) technology, as well as the engineering and business development teams that support the product. Nectar customers will see an immediate benefit from the integration of CEM’s deep forensic network capabilities with Nectar’s Converged Monitoring Platform (CMP) advanced suite of UC monitoring tools.
“This is a very strategic acquisition for Nectar,” said David Giangano, Nectar’s CEO. “CEM is a very unique and powerful tool on its own; however, when added to Nectar CMP, the combined solution becomes an absolute game changer in the field of monitoring and management of UC environments.” Giangano added, “While competitors may be able to report Quality of Service (QoS) stats that tell you ‘Yes or No’ there was a problem, it’s really like finding a ‘needle in a haystack’ for you to then correlate a problem down to the service affecting device or application that caused the issue. CEM, combined with Nectar CMP however, will alert you in real-time of the problem, while also capturing and storing network path and critical forensic information that’s correlated and mapped to the event. Most importantly, it will pinpoint the device, application or service that caused the issue. CEM finds that ‘needle in a haystack’ in a matter of clicks, which can reduce problem resolution time by more than 70%.”
Nectar CMP also has the ability to generate synthetic network traffic with its advanced application called “Perspective.” Combining this technology with CEM’s IP Correlation Engine takes network assessment, proactive monitoring and ongoing management to the next level. Nectar CMP with CEM will further empower Nectar’s Services Providers and Channel Partners to offer greatly enhanced proactive monitoring solutions to their client base. It also works across a broad spectrum of UC communication platforms, including: Avaya, Nortel, Cisco and Microsoft Lync’s telephony applications and can be delivered in a SaaS fully managed, co-managed, standalone or on-premise deployment model.
“Netsocket has had great success in the UC service assurance solutions space with CEM and has applied core components of the carrier-class IP routing capabilities inherent in CEM to our recently announced Netsocket Virtual Network (NVN),” said Fletcher Hamilton, CEO of Netsocket.” Netsocket Virtual Network is an SDN framework for network virtualization and advanced automation that delivers a fully optimized, automated and cost-effective end-to-end virtualized network. “CEM added to Nectar’s CMP platform greatly enhances its forensic capabilities in the field of UC monitoring and management, while Netsocket continues its focus on the dynamic network virtualization market.”
